Bawumia Spared Burden Of Funding NPP Delegates Conference In Ashanti As Group Of Financiers Decides To Foot The Bill, Chairman Wontumi Declares

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako (a.k.a Chairman Wontumi), has disclosed that MPs from the Ashanti region, top NPP Gurus, himself included, have decided to form a group to finance the upcoming NPP super delegates conference in the Ashanti Region.

The group will bear the cost of water, food, transportation and other expenses associated with the event.

“Ashanti Region has spoken already and has decided to choose a leader who’ll lead us to break the 8. I’ve met the MP’s and some leaders including some Chiefs in the Ashanti Region during which we appreciated what the vice president has done for Asanteman and for that reason he is spared the burden of bearing the cost of water, transportation, accommodation, food and other miscellaneous expenses far as the primaries are concerned since we have decided to honour those obligations.”

Chairman Wontumi explained in an interview on Wontumi Radio/Tv early morning show hosted by Oheneba Nana Asiedu in Kumasi.

According to Chairman Wontumi, “the Vice President would rather be adviced to focus on the other regions instead since he and the group in Ashanti have decided to provide the cash and other logistics needed to cater for the interest of the delegates.”

The most influential chairman stated in the interview that the concern showed by the vice president towards the development of Ashanti Region is overwhelming and worthy of being recognized, hence their decision.

“Dr Bawumia was instrumental in the President’s decision to construct the Bonkra Inland Port, the Kumasi Airport expansion, the Suame Interchange, construction of the Konongo double lane corridor, Kumasi central market reconstruction project among others he lobbied for the region so we say ‘Ayekoo’ and we’ll reward him; Ashanti is noted for rewarding good and hardworking people”.

Chairman Wontumi cautioned that the gesture should not be misconstrued to mean an indirect way of campaigning for the Vice President but a move to appreciate him for his hard work and commitment to the Ashanti Region.
