A research conducted and published by The Outcomes International, Ghana has revealed that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is making inroads in key swing constituencies, ahead of his main competitor, John Dramani Mahama.

In these constituencies, which are mainly in Greater Accra, Central and Bono regions, majority of those sampled ((977) believe Dr Bawumia has solidified his electoral gains and garnered more popularity.

The voters interviewed by the research team between 10th and 25th February, 2024 were asked a simple question: who will you vote for if elections were held today, and they responded that they have more confidence in Dr. Bawumia to rescue the economy when he becomes president than Mr John Dramani Mahama.

From the survey report, whereas former President Mahama won in Ablekuma Central, Adentan, Ledzokuku and Awutu Senya West; Dr. Bawumia took control of La Dadekotopon, Cape Coast North, Twifo-Atti Morkwa, Dormaa West and Jaman North.

The overall performance of each of the leading candidates shows that Dr. Bawumia (43.5%) has an edge over Mr. Mahama (42.1%).

However, the poll shows that 6.9% of the respondents will vote for other candidates and 7.4% were undecided at the time of the polling.
