The Youths and residents of Buni, a community within the Jaman North district of the Bono region have threatened not to exercise their franchise during the upcoming general elections as a result of the bad treatment past and current governments have subjected them to.

Speaking to Angel News in an exclusive interview, the youths indicated that they have been voting in all elections since the practice of democracy but have not experienced any form of development as far as socioeconomic development is concerned hence they are cautioning the electoral commission and the political parties not to step foot in Buni for votes when it is time for the 2024 general elections until their demands are addressed.

They complained about the dilapidation and poor nature of the roads in the area with numerous political promises and failures and that the politicians do not think about the development of the community hence they will not entertain any political figure for campaigns, they will not turn out to vote in the upcoming general elections until problems concerning their roads, schools, and other societal needs are well addressed.

The assembly member for the Buni Electoral area, Hon. Okyere Bediako Charles expressed worry about the continuous deterioration of roads and other amenities denoting that Buni has been neglected in terms of all developmental projects that go on within the district. He explained that they have the poorest roads linking to the other communities and so if their problems are not tackled, they will not exercise their franchise in the 2024 general elections.
