A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been seen on video threatening war if the political party is not declared the winner of the impending elections.

He says the NDC is aware of plans to rig the election, but there will be war if the opposition political party is not declared the winner of the election.

The NDC member, whose name is currently not known, said they have informed John Dramani Mahama of their move to take the laws into their own hands in case the Electoral Commission rigs the elections in the governing NPP’s favour.

“We have made Mahama aware that whether he likes it or not, we are organized, and we will teach NPP how to win elections. We have won more elections than the NPP. There will be war, and we will kill people. If they attempt to rig the elections, there will be war in Ghana,” he said.

This is not the first time an NDC member has threatened violence ahead of the 2024 elections.

A National Officer of the political party speaking on Accra-based OKAY FM called on members of the opposition to be armed with sharp cutlasses.
