Sources close to New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Alan Kyeremanten have revealed that he is set to address the nation on his political future next week.
They also disclosed that Mr Kyeremanten has planned to announce his resignation from the NPP and has put an elaborate plan in place to form a new political party that will become Ghana’s third force going into the 2024 General Elections.
The deep throat sources also noted that in the address, Mr Kyeremanten will render an apology 6to the NPP and Ghanaians for his sudden withdrawal; and give state reasons for his withdrawal.
It is also understood that many of Alan Kyeremanten’s supporters support his decision to breakaway and form a new political party under his leadership in readiness for the 2024 General Elections.
Mr Alan Kyeremanten, earlier this week, announced his withdrawal from the flagbearership race of the NPP citing a concerted effort to favour one aspirant and violence and intimidation against his supporters in the recently-held super delegates conference. He added that he was going to let the public know what he intended to do next in his political career soon.
The NPP expressed regret over his withdrawal, noting that it had done everything to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants and that investigations into the isolated case of violence against one of his supporters was underway.
Some persons, including NPP founding member Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, have encouraged Alan Kyeremanten to go independent and test his ability to become President or otherwise
