The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has noted with regret the decision of Mr. Alan Kyerematen to withdraw himself from the impending presidential primaries of the party.

“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party hereby acknowledges the receipt of a letter dated September 5, 2023, signed by Hon John Alan Kyerematen and the contents therein are duly noted” the General Secretary said.

However, responding to incidents of recorded infractions during the Super Delegates Conference, Mr. Kodua said both Elections Committee and the Disciplinary Committee have initiated comprehensive investigations into all reported cases of violations that allegedly occurred at various voting centers.

“We wish to reassure all stakeholders and the general public that the reports of a the aforementioned committees will be made readily available and persons who may be found culpable of any wrongdoing will be held accountable” he assured.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kyerematen announced in a statement on Tuesday (September 5) that he was withdrawing from the contest. He further cited election irregularities that favored one particular aspirant and condemned the unprecedented acts of intimidation and violence that certain delegates were subjected to during the recent Special Delegates Conference.
