Private legal practitioner and a member of the Convention People Party (NPP) Kwame Jantuah has said the reshuffle done by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has come too late.

In his view, the president waited until things deteriorated before reshuffling his ministers, especially the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Speaking on the Big Issue on TV3 Friday Febraury 16, he said “Unfortunately, sometimes the president is stubborn he waits till things nearly spoilt then he comes in. IMF, what didn’t he say? That we won’t go to IMF.  Even when the World Bank warned us to be careful with borrowing, the president said we don’t go the IMF, the then Minister of Finance said we won’t go , he waited to the last minute when realized his back was against the wall  he decided to go to the IMF.”

President Akufo-Addo relieved Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta of his portfolio in government in the latest reshuffle he did.

The other ministers who have also been removed include Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Works and Housing Minister Francis Asenso Boakye, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Health, Kwasi Anoako Attah, Roads and Highways, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Hon.
