Ghanaians have been urged to acknowledge the great contributions made by former President John Dramani Mahama during his short but impressive stay in office as President of Ghana.

An aide to the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, in an interview with Kumasi-based Ultimate Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, noted that the legacies of Mahama are all over the country and transforming lives in communities where they are located.

She believes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 polls is considered one of the few transformative leaders Ghana has had and must be accorded that respect accordingly.

“When I move around and see the legacies of Mahama everywhere, I feel proud. Here in Kumasi, the airport project phase one that has led to phase two all makes me excited. John Mahama is a visionary man, a transformative thought leader and I believe that long before today, he had actually imagined that Ghana, Ashanti region would need better facilities than what existed and so the journey started from then on whatever we add on I believe that is how it should be”, she disclosed.

“I would have expected more from this government, especially the roads project, highway from the Kumasi-Accra, but that is not the case. We all want this better Ghana not all of us want to leave Ghana, and not all of us can leave Ghana” Let’s acknowledge leaders who exhibit transformative leadership, Mahama’s short stay in office has shown the way”, the former Deputy Transport Minister urged.

Madam Mogtari, however, said lasting projects by Mr Mahama that needed to be given attention for the benefit of society must be safeguarded and improved upon.

“The Kejetia market, the Afari Military Hospital, the Rattray Park are all legacies that have helped the people a lot and need to be protected and added upon. I know the Military Hospital has been abandoned, the Rattray Park I am told was not functioning at a point only to hear the software of the fountain had gone missing hence our inability to use it at the time, this is ridiculous can you imagine this”, she bemoaned
