On Saturday, 15th July 2023, the member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng organized a health walk for his constituents. The walk was aimed at keeping the constituents and the party members fit ahead of the 2024 elections. It was also a strategy to showcase, energize, engage, and interact with the constituents.

The walk recorded a massive turn-out of party faithful and constituents comprising Regional Executives, MCE, Constituency Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, and Polling Station Executives.

 

The programme which started from the forecourt of the MP’s office at Degede, saw through to C.A.C junction, Estate, roundabout, Deeper junction, Old Town, and compound. Clad in party paraphernalia, the participants thronged the principal streets of Bibiani amidst singing and dancing.

 

The nexus of the program occurred at Roman Catholic Park. The moment the participants awaited arrived when the MP mounted the stage. He thanked the participants for the massive turnout on short notice. He stressed the need for participants to exercise regularly and adopt healthy lifestyles that will give them a sound mind in a sound body. According to the MP, being physically active can improve one’s brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of diseases, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve one’s ability to do everyday activities.

The Member of Parliament continued that “Breaking the 8”, mantra is not a mere rhetoric but a vision which would be accomplished. Based on the massive turn-out, the MP was optimistic that the 8 has already been broken in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency.

 

Amid the global economic downturn, the MP and the NPP government are working assiduously to improve the lots of the citizenry. Aside from the construction of 20 mechanized boreholes, educational infrastructure, and greener pastures programme, Hon. Obeng-Boateng has rolled out 9 projects. Others in the pipeline included: AstroTurfs for Bibiani and Bekwai, Construction of Awaso town roads, Pataboso-Nkwanta to Kunkumso road construction, Hwenampori to Chene road, market buildings for Wenchi, Dominebo No.2 and Asawinso.
