The Member of Parliament for the people of Hohoe, in the Volta region, Hon. Peter Amewu has defied the Jubilee House whipping system and joined the Alan Campaign.

The Hon. member who is the only MP on the ticket of the NPP in the entire Volta and Oti regions was seen in various videos circulating on social media leading Mr. Alan Kyerematen at Kumawu during the final funeral rights of the late MP for the area, Hon. Philip Basoah.

His involvement in the Alan campaign has brought so much joy to many NPP members who are in the Volta and Oti regions.

Two members of the party from Battor in the North Tongu constituency in the Volta Region, Delali Agboado and Sampson Ahadzi in an interview were excited to see Mr. Amewu join the campaign team.

According to them, the Volta region has always been the home for Mr. Kyerematen and for them to see Mr. Amewu in his camp, makes the joy in their hearts complete.

The NPP will on the 4th of November, 2023 go to the polls to elect their flagbearer. It is rumored that the seat of government, Jubilee house has been harassing MPs, CEOs, Ministers, MMDCEs and other government appointees to endorse the candidature of the Vice President.

This whipping according to the Alan campaign has infuriated many of these appointees who in camera have been given their assurance to the Alan campaign team that when the time is ripe, they will defy the Jubilee House whipping to openly campaign for Alan as they see him as the next obvious choice of the party.

Mr. Amewu’s public show of support for Mr. Kyerematen therefore to many of the Alan insiders did not come as a surprise.

The Alan campaign team have assured that many of such government officials in the coming days will come out boldly to declare for Alan.

During the last months aduru wo so walk in Accra, the MP for Atiwa East and also the Deputy Finance Minister, Hon. Abena Osei-Asare in a similar fashion, openly displayed her massive support for Mr. Kyerematen by joining him during the walk and also making a statement at Mantse Agbona.
