The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Kumawu Constituency,  Kwesi Amankwaa, was missing in action when the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) organizes a debate of ideas, policy and vision.

Amankwaa was expected to engage Ernest Yaw Anim, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in a debate.

The debate sessions provided the parliamentary candidates the opportunity to engage with electorates on topical issues. The parliamentary debate focused on the following thematic areas; health, education, agriculture, youth employment, peace and security

However, for reasons best known to him, his absence, according to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kumawu, Samuel Addai Agyekum, was because the NDC PC lacks ideas and fact to prove himself and his party.

According to the DCE, his MP was prepared with his documents to support his argument, inferred that their opponent was scared that he was going to be humiliated with the facts, hence his failure to show up.

The MP, Ernest Yaw Anim who made it to the debate, touted the free Senior High School policy, among others as the reason he and the NPP would win the December 7 polls.

The NPP candidate also outlined a number of social intervention policies in education, entrepreneurship, job creation, among others that he will implement to change his constituents’ conditions when voted to power again.

The debate seeks to give constituents a chance to interact and question their aspiring members of parliament before the December 7th.

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim said that the Constituency has been given massive facelift under the current administration following the road construction, the completion of the Kumawu Government Hospital and other projects that have taken place.
