The people of Jacobo, in the Odotobri constituency, led by its traditional leaders have given the strongest indication that they will continue to remain dedicated to the New Patriotic Party government due to the massive infrastructural development experienced throughout the country in the past 7 years.

In expressing their appreciation during a courtesy call by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, residents in Jacobo, especially endorsed the ruling government’s foresight in the provision of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).

This project, according to them, is a very bold strategy in drastically reducing road menace across the country.

And with this bold initiative by the Vice President Bawumia, the chiefs and their subjects want to see rapid improvement in the road situation in Jacobo.

The Queen mother and Krontihene of Jacobo, Nana Konadu Yiadom and Nana Baffour Owusu Agyare II, respectively, expressed confidence that Ghana will have a new face when the government is retained.

Taking turns to address chairman Wontumi and his entourage, the chiefs advised the delegation to keep to their promise of working on their roads of Jacobo and its environs..

They promised also to give give the same support that they offered to the incumbent MP to the new Parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Anthony Mmieh.

However, the traditional leaders were not happy with the level of corporation between the incumbent MP and the new PC, urging the constituency to work on unity within the party.

They also showed their abhorrent for independent candidate and that the party must be practical in wits resolve to ensure unity.

Responding to their call, Chairman Wontumi told the chiefs that, he will continue to push for the contractor to return to site on all roads which have been awarded on contract, while noting that the DRIP equipment have come to ensure the swift facilitation of reshaping of community roads.

Earlier speaking to party executives, Chairman Wontumi told them that “this time around, the campaign is all about knowing every voter and their houses.”

This, he noted, will make it easier for them to reach them.

On DRIP, chairman tasked DCE, PC and chairman to coordinate with all assembly members and traditional leaders and come out with a movement plan on how to manage their roads.

He said the campaign is not only for the PC, DCE and constituency chairman, but all must make the campaign their own.

Immediately after the meeting, the Regional Chairman and the Parliamentary candidate took to the streets of Jacobo in a meet and greet campaign, entering carpenters shops, hairdressing and Brailsford shops and anyone he meets on the streets, just to touch base with them.
