The presidential candidate of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew, has described former President John Dramani Mahama as a braggart.

The candidate, who is also the founder of the Life Assembly Worship Centre, said the former president is engaging in politics of deceit and only making unrealistic promises to make Ghanaians vote for him.

The man who believes he will emerge as the winner of the presidential election posited that “the race is between me and Mahama. As for Bawumia, he is not part of the race. He lost the race even before it started”.

Speaking in an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, he criticised the 24-hour economy promised by Mr. Mahama as unrealistic.

He has therefore urged Ghanaian journalists to explain to Ghanaians that “Mahama’s 24-hour economy is not something we should trust.

He said that for the 24-hour economy to work, we would have to construct several factories and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive first.

“The 24-hour economy policy promised by Mahama is not a company. The 24-hour economy is not something that can put food on our table. It is just a statement coming from a deceptive politician who lacks credibility.

Unless we have constructed factories, we cannot talk about a 24-hour economy. There are no jobs, and yet you are talking about a 24-hour economy, and your people are going around talking about it, deceiving people for votes. The 24-hour economy does not provide water or food. It is just a statement.”
